Aswan is an Egyptian city on the eastern bank of the Nile, with over 281,000 inhabitants. It is the fourth largest city in Upper Egypt after Luxor, Asyut and Fayyum.
The unfinished obelisk in the Upper Egyptian city of Aswan is an unfinished obelisk made of rose granite. With a height of 41.75 meters as well as a weight of about 1168 tons, it would have been the largest obelisk of antiquity when completed. Some of the most beautiful and best preserved temples of Egypt are located on the small island of Angílkia near Aswan. However, as with the temple complexes of Abu Simbel and Kalabsha, this is not the original site of the temples.
However, with the commissioning of the Aswan Dam, the Temple of Isis was flooded by water. Therefore, it was moved to the neighboring island of Agilkia. The structure is very impressive during the day, but the evening sound and light show makes it a romantic, unforgettable experience.
